Milestone

A big milestone occurred in our family last week as we introduced rice cereal to Ben for the first time. It was a fun experience for us all, although, I don't think Ben quite knew what to think of it. I video taped some of it to share with you. It's quite entertaining!

Road Trip

This past weekend we took a road trip to Coeur d' Alene, Idaho to attend a conference and visit some good friends. Ben was quite the trooper. We stayed up late both nights we were there and the trip itself is about a 6 hour drive one way. I truly think Ben would be happy never to see his car seat again! In spite of being pushed to his limits he was surprisingly delightful to be around. The first day we arrived we took a little stroll along the docks to enjoy the scenery and show Ben the lake. He seemed to enjoy watching the sunlight shimmer on water (he likes anything shiny or bright colored). Thanks to Mom and Dad Schultz we got a discount at the LaQuinta Inn so we splurged a little and stayed in a Jacuzzi Suite both nights. I can't tell you how nice it was to be able to relax together in a big warm jetted tub with a drink in hand at the end of each day. I must confess I had to mourn a little as we left the hotel to head back home. In summary, it was a really wonderful getaway for us!

Easter

I know Easter is over already but it's our favorite time of year and I have to share this handsome photo of Brian and Ben. It was taken right before we left for church on Sunday morning. I won't go into all the details of our day, but I'll sum it up by saying that it was absolutely enjoyable. Brian's parents bought Ben this little suite for the occasion and I do have to say that he looked as dashing as a 5 month old can (he takes after his father). It's so much fun dressing him up!

My First Time

So this is my first time being a blogger and I have to say that I was a little skeptical about ever becoming one because of my lack of creativity in this area. However, I've realized that this is a great way to share our lives with friends and family both near and far (especially those far). I also thought it would be a good challenge for my "creative" brain. So... here we go!

For those curious, I've chosen the title of this blog to be "A Beautiful Glorious Mess" because that's exactly what life is... a beautiful, glorious mess. Therefore, we invite you to share in our lives. Rejoice with us, mourn with us, and get messy with us!
